Successful exporting to the U.S. requires companies to follow basic steps
which Tatweer has institutionalized in the fast track program:
-
Diagnose the company's readiness: a
careful and objective assessment of export readiness yields the action
plan for improvement. The diagnostic checklist includes: management
commitment, domestic track record, market planning, the finance
equation, the right product /service, gearing up production, and
management knowledge of export marketing.
-
Develop a thorough export-marketing
plan and integrate it into the overall business plan.
-
Allocate dedicated resources for
exporting to the U.S.
-
Modify products and services to meet
the needs of the offshore market.
-
Utilize Tatweer's export specialists
and research resources to secure export partners (agents, distributors,
brokers, trade shows).
Faculty-
For-Factory Program
Strengthening University-Business Cooperation
Faced with intensifying global competition, SMEs in Jordan can enhance their
competitive edge and growth by collaborating with national education and
research institutions. On their side, universities need help to produce
graduates better suited to employers’ needs and to provide lifelong learning
opportunities. Working with universities, chambers of industries and other
local institutions across Jordan, Tatweer’s offices in Irbid, Amman, Zarqa
and Aqaba, will engage academia and industry in structured assistance
programs for their mutual benefit. Tatweer is collaborating on this initiate
with the National Committee of the faculty-for-factory program.
Through the Faculty-for-Factory Program:
-
Faculty members will be recruited to
apply their expertise to a specific SME’s needs and will propose
solutions, as well as introduce the SME to useful local sources of
ongoing technical expertise or services.
-
Faculty may invite selected students to
work on the project and will share their practical experience as case
studies with students in their classrooms, stimulating interest in the
real world of business.
-
Recent graduates may also be involved
in certain Tatweer assignments to capitalize on their current knowledge
while exposing them to the business challenges and opportunities faced
by Jordanian SMEs and industries.
-
Both faculty and students will become
more aware of and responsive to areas of applied research and employment
that are in demand by the Jordanian private sector.
-
SMEs benefit from the latest knowledge
and applied research techniques.
-
A winning outcome for all!
